Hardware platforms

The Napatech Link-Virtualization™ Software 4.4 release applies to these hardware platforms:

  • NT200A02 2 × 10/25 Gbit/s SmartNICs
  • NT50B01 2 × 10/25 Gbit/s SmartNICs

Operating systems

The Napatech Link-Virtualization™ Software 4.4 release supports:

Hypervisor OS:
  • Linux kernel 4.18 and newer
  • Link-Virtualization™ Software is tested and qualified against Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. Derivatives of RHEL (CentOS, Fedora or CentOS Stream) are likely also working, but not officially supported.
Guest OS:
  • Any Linux OS with kernel 5.0 and newer versions for the kernel-mode network support
  • Any Linux OS with kernel 4.18 and newer versions for the DPDK-based network support

Supported OVS, DPDK and OpenStack

The Link-Virtualization™ Software package includes:
  • OVS 2.15.0
  • DPDK 20.11.1
  • OpenStack RDO/Packstack support for the Train release

New features

These features are new in the Napatech Link-Virtualization™ Software 4.4 release:

  • IPv6 VXLAN tunnel encapsulation and decapsulation
  • OpenStack RDO/Packstack support for the Train release
