Privileges needed for installation
To install WinPcap-NT, you need privileges as a member of the local Administrators group.
32-bit or 64-bit
If you want to run 32-bit WinPcap applications, you must install 32-bit Napatech Software Suite and 32-bit WinPcap-NT.
Startup of WinPcap driver service
If any user should be able to start a WinPcap application, you must accept the default of starting the NPF (Netgroup Packet Filter) driver service at system startup. Otherwise, local Administrators’ privileges is needed to start the first WinPcap application (or to manually start the NPF driver service before the first WinPcap application).
Only one version of WinPcap at a time
If any version of WinPcap is already installed on the target platform, the WinPcap-NT installer will at first suggest uninstalling it. In silent mode, the installer will silently uninstall the existing WinPcap installation.
