In this section
This section describes how to synchronize OS time to SmartNIC time.
Synchronized OS time
The TimeSyncOsTimeReference parameter allows the OS time to be synchronized to the time of a SmartNIC.
Note: The selected SmartNIC must not have OSTime included in the TimeSyncReferencePriority parameter, nor must it be synchronized to a SmartNIC in OS synchronization mode. In general, it must be observed that synchronization loops are not formed.
Note: The server OS time must not be synchronized to another time reference, such as NTP.
Note: The numbers that appear in the parameter values are the virtual SmartNIC numbers from the ntservice.ini file.
ntservice.ini code line
The syntax for the ntservice.ini code line synchronizing OS time to SmartNIC time is:
'TimeSyncOsTimeReference' '=' ( 'None' | 'adapter-0' | 'adapter-1' | 'adapter-2' | 'adapter-3' | 'adapter-4' | 'adapter-5' | 'adapter-6' | 'adapter-7' )
Example:
TimeSyncOsTimeReference=adapter-0
Default value
This table shows the default value.
Parameter | Default Value |
---|---|
TimeSyncOsTimeReference | None |
