CFP (Cisco FabricPath) frames
The frame decoder recognizes a CFP-encapsulated frame if the frame being analyzed has an EtherType field equal to 0x8903.
Note: A single packet cannot be recognized both as an ISL-encapsulated frame
and a CFP-encapsulated frame. For packets with both encapsulations, the outermost
encapsulation is decoded and the inner layer 2 packet is decoded as EtherII (for
recognized CFP encapsulation) or SNAP (for recognized ISL encapsulation), and further
decoding is stopped.
Note: CFP classification does not apply to NT40E3-4-PTP running on the capture/replay image
nor to NT40A01 running on the 4 × 10/1 Gbit/s SLB image.
CFP length
The length of the CFP field is 16 bytes before the encapsulated Ethernet frame and 0 bytes after the Ethernet frame.
