Getting Sets of External Time and SmartNIC Time Every 20 µs

This section describes how to obtain synchronized sets of external time and SmartNIC time every 20 μs.

Sampling time

A free-running NT SmartNIC connected to other NT equipment can be configured to obtain synchronized sets of external time and SmartNIC time every 20 μs instead of every second, using the HighFrequencySampling parameter (see External and SmartNIC time samples for Napatech equipment).

ntservice.ini code line

The syntax for the ntservice.ini code line setting the sampling time is:

'HighFrequencySampling' '=' ( 'DISABLE' | 'ENABLE' )

Example:

HighFrequencySampling=ENABLE
