Container package

The .ntimg container package for the NT200A01-2×25/10/2×40 SmartNIC contains:
  • A 2 × 25/10 Gbit/s .ntimg container package
  • A 2 × 40 Gbit/s .ntimg container package
  • An index file

The content of the index file is fixed. It controls that the 2 × 25/10 Gbit/s image is in image bank 0 and the 2 × 40 Gbit/s image is in image bank 1. It also controls which image is the primary image by default.

Default image

By default the SmartNIC runs on the image in bank 0, which is the 2 × 25/10 Gbit/s image.

This is an example of an output from a --query command on a SmartNIC in default mode.

Switching to 2 × 40 Gbit/s operation

The NT200A01-2×25/10/2×40 SmartNIC can be switched from 2 × 25/10 Gbit/s operation to 2 × 40 Gbit/s operation as shown in this example:
$ imgctrl --adapter 1 --switch
$ imgctrl --adapter 1 --switch --confirm
Note: ×8×8 bifurcation mode must be enabled for the PCIe slot in question. Otherwise, the --pcix8 argument must be issued with the --switch command.

The --switch command forces the SmartNIC to run on the 2 × 40 Gbit/s image. The --switch --confirm command changes the primary image to the running image, that is the 2 × 40 Gbit/s image in image bank 1.

This is an example of an output from a --query command after the --switch command above.
