This document describes the functionality and features of Napatech Link™ Software for the Napatech SmartNICs as well as for the Intel® Programmable Acceleration Card with Intel® Arria® 10 GX FPGA (Intel® PAC with Intel® Arria® 10 GX FPGA or Intel® PAC A10 GX for short).

Note: This document refers to functionality provided by Napatech SmartNICs with fourth-generation architecture (also referred to as 4GA) as well as by the Intel® PAC with Intel® Arria® 10 GX FPGA running Napatech Link™ Capture Software. For users of Napatech SmartNICs with third-generation architecture (also referred to as 3GA), please refer to the appropriate documentation relevant for Napatech 3GA SmartNICs.

Terminology

In this document the term NT100E3-1-PTP includes NT100E3-1-PTP-NEBS SmartNICs, the term NT80E3-2-PTP includes NT80E3-2-PTP-NEBS SmartNICs, the term NT40E3-4-PTP includes NT40E3-4-PTP-NEBS SmartNICs, and the term NT20E3-2-PTP includes NT20E3-2-PTP-NEBS SmartNICs, except in contexts where the NEBS SmartNICs are also mentioned specifically.

Operating systems

The SmartNIC drivers support these operating systems:

  • Linux, 64-bit
  • Windows, 64-bit (only for NT SmartNICs)

General description of the SmartNICs

The Napatech SmartNICs as well as the Intel® Programmable Acceleration Card with Intel® Arria® 10 GX FPGA running Napatech Link™ Capture Software are intelligent SmartNICs with HW-accelerated 2 × 100 Gbit/s, 1 × 100 Gbit/s, 2 × 40 Gbit/s, 4 × 25/10 Gbit/s, 2 × 25/10 Gbit/s, 8 × 10 Gbit/s, 1 × 40 Gbit/s, 4 × 10 Gbit/s, 4 × 10/1 Gbit/s, 2 × 10/1 Gbit/s or 4 × 1 Gbit/s frame capturing, frame classification, filtering and high-precision time-stamping as the main features. This table shows available interfaces on the different HW models of the SmartNICs.
