Definition

Cold boot is defined as a power cycle event. A server with an NT SmartNIC must be fully powered off and then back on to be in a cold boot state.

Description

When the server with the NT SmartNIC is cold-booted, the support chip boots the FPGA with the image from the primary flash bank. If the image is detected as corrupted, the support chip automatically switches to the other bank. This event is identified as an error and can be inspected by the query mode (see Query mode).
