In this chapter
This chapter describes installation of a Napatech NT80E3-2-PTP SmartNIC to run at 8 × 10 Gbit/s, where this differs from the installation of a Napatech NT80E3-2-PTP SmartNIC to run at 2 × 40 Gbit/s.
Installing NT80E3-2-PTP
A Napatech NT80E3-2-PTP or NT80E3-2-PTP-NEBS SmartNIC to run at 8 × 10 Gbit/s must be
installed as described in DN-0980 or DN-0981, respectively.
Note: For the optical solution
the fiber optic cable used must be a 4 × 10 Gbit/s optical breakout cable.
Note: For
the electrical solution the QSFP+ module and the cable is combined in a QSFP+ 40GBASE-CR4
to SFP+ 10GBASE-CR copper breakout cable.
Optical breakout cables
For information on available optical breakout cables, see DN-0515 on docs.napatech.com (the Napatech Documentation Portal).
Apart from these cables, this table shows an MPO to LC cassette that has been used by Napatech as an examples of a usable optical breakout device.
Type | Length (in m) | Vendor | Vendor Part Number |
---|---|---|---|
MPO Cassette, 2 × 12F, 50/125 OM4 LC, KEY UP & DOWN | - | Amphenol | 948-100-5462-51 |
Electrical breakout cables
This table shows some electrical 4 × 10 Gbit/s breakout cables that have been used by Napatech as examples of usable electrical breakout cables.
